Mazafati Dates Harvest 2022
The new harvest of lightweight Mazafati dates for 2022 will be ready by early August.
The initial harvest consists of lighter Mazafati dates, typically packed in 6.5 to 7 kg packages, with the exact weight depending on the location of the palm gardens.
This first harvest of Mazafati dates is especially popular in southern regions of India, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and East Asia. The harvest conditions in 2022 are similar to 2021, promising a fruitful season.
Starting next week, the unique tradition of Khorma Pazoon—harvesting dates during the hottest part of the season—will begin in southern Iran. With temperatures exceeding 42°C, this period marks the ripening of red dates as they near their characteristic black color, signifying full maturity.
